"Don't Allow T.B Joshua To Enter South Africa' - ANC Youths advise President Zuma!

<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The
 African National Congress Youth League has called on the Jacob Zuma-led
 South African government not to issue a visa to the General Overseer of
 the Synagogue of All Nations, Pastor Temitope Joshua.<br /><br />The Pastor
 had expressed on Sunday his desire to visit South Africa to commiserate
 with the families of 84 citizens of the country who lost their lives 
when a building of the church collapsed in Lagos on September 12.<br /><br />About
 115 people died in the tragedy and Joshua had described those who lost 
their lives as martyrs to the consternation of South Africans.<br /><br />But
 reacting to Joshua’s desire to visit South Africa, the spokesperson for
 the ANC Youth League, Bandile Masuku, said, “TB Joshua should not be 
allowed to come to South Africa until we know what happened to our 
fellow countrymen at his church.<br /><br />“We will make sure we engage 
with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation to make 
sure they do not issue him with a South African visa.”<br /><br />A South 
African Newspaper, City Press, which reported this on Tuesday, had 
reported that about 115 people, including 84 South Africans, were killed
 and dozens trapped when the multi-storey guesthouse attached to the 
church collapsed.<br /><br />About 350 South Africans were said to be visiting the church in the Ikotun neighbourhood of Lagos, at the time.<br /><br />Meanwhile,
 the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, has called on the Lagos State 
Government to apply the full weight of the criminal law against anyone 
found culpable for the collapse of the Synagogue building collapse.<br /><br />The
 institute called for a thorough investigation into the incident, adding
 that the probe should not be limited to the owner of the collapsed 
building, but also to the approving agencies.<br /><br />The National 
President, NITP, Chief Steve Onu, who said this at a news conference on 
Tuesday in Abuja, noted that the enforcement of relevant laws and 
appropriate sanctions against errant builders would serve as deterrent 
to those that love cutting corners when building.<br /><br />He said 
building collapse was not the fault of planners but that of developers 
who cut corners, noting that many government buildings did not also meet
 standard town planning requirements.<br /><br />He said that states were 
fond of not employing professional town planners while local government 
councils retained and promoted ill-trained urban development workers, 
adding that it was only the Federal Capital Territory that had a 
building tribunal in the country.<br /><br />Onu said, “If what has happened
 is considered a criminal act, criminal law should be pursued to its 
conclusion; there is a penalty for negligence, so they should carry out 
proper investigation even up to the approving agencies. Somebody is 
supposed to ensure that that building does not continue. So the 
government investigation should not be limited to Synagogue.<br /><br />“As 
much as possible, the searchlight should be extended to the approving 
agencies. Did they give approval? The people who built, did they build 
according to approval? If they did not give approval, then it is an 
illegal structure. So, whatever penalty the law says in respect of 
illegal structure, should be followed.”<br /><br />The NITP President 
predicted that the coastal areas of Lagos would experience massive 
flooding in the future on account of the land reclamation carried out by
 the developers of the Atlantic City project.<br /><br />This, he said, was 
because research had shown that the ice glaciers were melting, noting 
that this had resulted in the rising of the ocean with concomitant 
flooding of coastal areas globally.<br /><br />“The Atlantic city project 
will pose flooding challenges for settlements along the coastal area, it
 will lead to massive flooding in the future. These people (project 
handlers) are insensitive to the possible problems the reclamation would
 cause through ocean surge. They would just wake up one day and find 
that everywhere is flooded,” Onu stated. </span></span>

 a Nigeria Media Merit Award winner, said politics could be used to 
reach height of power and achievement which should not be restricted to 
any caree<br /><br />Okafor explained that actors are the best people among 
politicians, saying that they have been involved in various roles and 
movies that depict the realities of life.<br /><br />“I believe I will also 
join politics, I want to impact on the life of the people, whether House
 of Representatives, Senate or even governorship position, after all RMD
 is not doing bad,” Okafor said.<br /><br />The President also made 
reference to other actors in the Western World like Ronald Regean and 
George Murphy who had made progress as actors and politicians.<br /><br />Mr Joshua Ejiro, a resident of Karu, Abuja, also said that Nigerian actors go into politics for the money and fame.<br /><br />Ejiro
 explained that average Nigerians like money and recognition, so he did 
not see why actors’ involvement in politics should be controversial.<br /><br />Mr Monday Odeh, a businessman in Utako market, Abuja, commended Nollywood for the progress they were making in politics.<br /><br />“I
 strongly have the conviction that they will do better because all that 
happens in politics had been acted by them, even combining the two will 
not be bad at all,” Ode said.<br /><br />Similarly, Tope Ajayi, a Sociology 
student, University of Jos, said that she believed Nollywood actors do 
not really know what they wanted.<br /><br />Tope urged actors to bring 
those flaws in the country’s politics into acting as a way of showcasing
 and correcting it, rather than leaving it for something else.<br /><br />“It
 is unfortunate that people see politics in this country as the final 
bus-stop of fulfilling their life ambitions and making easy money,’’ 
Ajayi said.<br /><br />Some of the actors in the Nollywood have declared their intention to run on the platform of different political parties.<br /><br />Nigerian actress like Kate Henshaw is contesting under PDP for the House of Representatives in Cross River.<br /><br />Others
 actors include Emmanuel Udokwu, for House of Representatives under 
APGA, Anambra, and Desmond Elliot, House of Representatives under APC, 
Lagos State, among other artists.</span></span></div>

Actress Doris Simeon in a recent TV interview spoke once again about her

 failed marriage to movie producer, Daniel Adenimokan. Speaking on TVC 
breakfast show, Your Views, this week, Doris said Daniel asked her for a
 divorce several times before they finally separated.<br />

"This man asked for divorce over seven times, 
long before we finally separated. At every little problem, he would say 
‘I want divorce, I want divorce.' There are some people that he listens to when they talk 
to him, so I tried to call pastors, and they kept calling him, but he 
wouldn’t pick their calls. At some point, I just realized that he had 
made up his mind finally. It got to a point that I had to look at myself in the mirror, and I 
said to myself, ‘Doris, you are a beautiful woman, why would you want to
 kill yourself over nothing?’ I convinced myself to just try and move on with my life 
also. It took me a year to get to that point, but in between that time, I
 was trying to focus my mind on other things such as work."</blockquote>

The Chairman,
 Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Thompson Sekibo has said that 
members of the Senate will not be intervening on the death
 verdict handed to 12 soldiers for mutiny by a military court on 
September 16th.<br />

Senator Sekibo who spoke with 
journalists after a
 closed-door meeting between the senate committee on Defence and the 
Service Chiefs at the National Assembly in Abuja yesterday September 
23rd, said the verdict of the military court is meant to instill 
discipline into the military. </div>

 we are not, because the Armed Forces are established by an Act of the 
National Assembly. The Act spelt out categorically the conduct of the 
soldiers and the way they are to behave wherever they are. If you
 join the military, that Act is to guide you and your conduct. If you go

prescribed for the Act you violated will come on you. So the 
military did not just wake up one day and say that they are going to 
kill Mr. A or Mr. B." <br />

Nigerian Labor Congress has condemned the death sentence. Speaking through the Acting President of the 
Union, Promise Adewusi, the NLC described the verdict as unacceptable 
and advised that the verdict be converted to a more tolerable and 
acceptable one</div>

 expect that the Military Council or the appropriate authority, whose 
responsibility it is to review sentences of this nature, should commute 
this sentence to a more tolerable or acceptable one.”. </blockquote>
He said the

 sow the seed of a major security problem in the armed forces.

 Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on September 22, 2014 
arraigned one Musa Yunusa alias Yassa Mustapha Aliyu before Justice 
Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court on one count charge of 
obtaining money by false pretense. The
 accused allegedly obtained the sum of N100, 000 (One Hundred Thousand 
Naira Only) from one Abdulkadir Abbas under the guise that he had power 
voltage regulators to sell to him.</span></span></div>

charge reads, “that you Musa Yunusa a.k.a Yassa Mustapha Aliyu sometime 
in March 2012 in Kaduna, within the jurisdiction of the High Court of 
Kaduna State with intent to defraud obtained the sum of N100,000 (One 
Hundred Thousand Naira only) from one Abdulkadir Abbas by falsely 
representing that you have a power voltage regulator (PVR) and capable 
of securing and delivering same to him which pretence you knew to be 
false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1 (1)(a) of 
the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006 and 
punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act”.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.</span></span></div>

Retired Police boss kills self, wife and son in Ogun state

A retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1491588844" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Sunday</span></span>
 Isokpehi<span style="font-size: x-small;">,</span> who at one time served at the Lagos state police command 
anti-robbery squad, on Saturday September 20th, killed himself, his wife 
Gladys and their son at their Sango Ota, Ogun state residence after a 
heated argument with his wife.<br />

 to reports, the former police boss and his wife began fighting when 
they returned home from a wedding on Saturday after he accused her of 
disgracing him at the wedding by getting drunk.</div>

The woman reportedly denied being drunk and before anyone could stop the
 couple, they started fighting. Seeing that his
 wife was overpowering him, the retired police boss went 
for his pump action riffle and shot his wife and then shot their son who
 had been trying to separate them. Seeing the gravity of the crime he'd 
committed, Isokpehi reportedly turned the gun on 
himself.<br />

After the unfortunate incident, neighbours told police that the couple fought regularly.</div>

Confirming
 the sad incident, the Ogun state Police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, 
said the bodies of the all three have been deposited at the hospital
 for autopsy. He said the police will carry out a detailed 
investigation.</div>

psychologists and medical doctors associated with the Technische 
University of Berlin, have announced this morning that they had proven 
by clinical experimentation, the existence of some form of life after 
death. This astonishing announcement is based on the conclusions of a 
study using a new type of medically supervised near-death experiences, 
that allow patients to be clinically dead for almost 20 minutes before 
being brought back to life.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This 
controversial process that was repeated on 944 volunteers over that last
 four years, necessitates a complex mixture of drugs including 
epinephrine and dimethyltryptamine, destined to allow the body to 
survive the state of clinical death and the reanimation process without 
damage. The body of the subject was then put into a temporary comatic 
state induced by a mixture of other drugs which had to be filtered by 
ozone from his blood during the reanimation process 18 minutes later.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The 
extremely long duration of the experience was only recently made 
possible by the development of a new cardiopulmonary recitation (CPR) 
machine called the AutoPulse. This type of equipment has already been 
used over the last few years, to reanimate people who had been dead for 
somewhere between 40 minutes to an hour.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Near-death 
experiences have been hypothesized in various medical journals in the 
past, as having the characteristics of hallucinations, but Dr Ackermann 
and his team, on the contrary, consider them as evidence for the 
existence of the afterlife and of a form of dualism between mind and 
body.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The team of 
scientists led by Dr Berthold Ackermann, has monitored the operations 
and have compiled the testimonies of the subjects. Although there are 
some slight variations from one individual to another, all of the 
subjects have some memories of their period of clinical death. and a 
vast majority of them described some very similar sensations.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">    Most 
common memories include a feeling of detachment from the body, feelings 
of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth, the experience of 
absolute dissolution, and the presence of an overwhelming light.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The 
scientists say that they are well aware the many of their conclusions 
could shock a lot of people, like the fact that the religious beliefs of
 the various subjects seems to have held no incidence at all, on the 
sensations and experiences that they described at the end of the 
experiment. Indeed, the volunteers counted in their ranks some members 
are a variety of Christian churches, Muslims, Jews, Hindus and atheists.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">“I know our 
results could disturb the beliefs of many people” says Mr Ackermann. 
“But in a way, we have just answered one of the greatest questions in 
the history of mankind, so I hope these people will be able to forgive 
us. Yes, there is life after death and it looks like this applies to 
everyone.”</span><br />

was arrested under the Ikeja Bridge where she had been using her “heavy 
pregnancy” to deceive and solicit alms from residents. She was paraded 
with a pillow, which she hid under her dress to fakea protruded belly, 
to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.</span></div>

Speaking on her arrest, Mr Bayo Sulaiman, Chairman of the Task Force, 
said the woman was arrested following a tip-off from members of the 
public about her suspicious activities. Sulaiman explained that the 
suspect confessed to the dishonest business after the arrest and even 
displayed to officials how she faked the pregnancy to appeal to people’s
 sympathy and defraud them.</span></div>

 this woman is one of the many cases of many dishonest people across the
 metropolis that operate under different guises to solicit alms and 
defraud members of the public,” he said.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The task force chairman said the suspect would be arraigned in court to face the consequence of her fraudulent way of life.</span></div>
